School talk ~ about town ~ traffic/parking

Posted on | February 16, 2009 |

Now that the back field and the road by the tennis courts is clear for parking I am sure I want be seeing anymore if the ” Bonehead” driving/ parking that I have been seeing.

If you need to take your child into the building we need you to park out back and walk them in. I know this is not easy, I have a child that likes to be walked in periodically too. Consider the drivers lined up behind you waiting to drop off properly. Judging by the phone calls I am getting they are getting hostile.

The BUS , use it or loose it! We are not using our bus service enough! Not only is this and environmental option, given the crazy driving ( you know who you are! ) it may very well be the safer choice.

What is the meaning of this post and who is the author? These out-of context quotations were taken from emails that circulated among parents of Anmore Elementary School during the freak weather of late December (2008)- January (2009)and are in direct reference to the complications associated with pickup and drop off during the period of time prior to the removal of the excess snow. As a parent who picks up and drops off daily, I can assure the readers of this site that there are no such issues under normal weather circumstances.

The use of such improperly spun quotations really should not find a public voice. In future may I suggest that all quotations be properly cited and contextualized…

Wow, this is my notice home to parents! At this time parents were driving disrespectfully as there was a lot of snow and this refers to parents walking their children into the building, it states as much in the quote. I dont think that Middle School and High School parents are inclined to get out of their cars and walk their children to class, their children would be mortified as well just to add!
I should add that the principal and teachers worked very hard to improve this situation with the snow and I myself volunteered a few days to help with the pick up and drop off as well. The problem was solved because we addressed it and worked on it together.
I appreciate your effort with this site and I respect your right to voice your concerns but I would rather not be miss quoted again. Thanks Kerri Palmer Isaak
