Port Moody Police Annual Report - What about the proposed Anmore Middle School
Posted on | February 14, 2009 |
Who is going to ensure that our children are safe ? Is it Port Moody, or Coquitlam. As a frame of reference, in 2006 the Port Moody Police Annual Report states they added an additional officer for the opening of the other school on Heritage Mountain and their activities regarding schools included the following:
• Intervened when a young girl was becoming involved with drugs and gangs.
• Investigated a robbery at a local high school. Charges have been approved.
• Investigated two serious assaults at schools. Charges were recommended.
• Investigated and intervened when, on several occasions, young people brought replica handguns to school.
• Participated in a drug trafficking investigation at a local school. Cocaine, marihuana and cash were seized.
• Identified graffiti “taggers” on the North Shore. Appropriate alternative measures were implemented to correct the youths’ behaviour.
• Identified the youths that had cut down the trees at the entrance to Heritage Woods Secondary School. Alternative measures were implemented.
Who will be responsible for the safety of the students at this school ? Anmore currently has no RCMP detachment. Have arrangments been made prior to zoning ?
