Proposed School - Requires Anmore Bylaw Enforcement Officer?
If the “proposed” new Heritage Woods Middle School is built…. won’t this create urgency of hiring a Bylaw Enforcement Officer? Who will pay? How much will it cost?
The following is a post by Councilor Chris Sedergreen

“Can we/should we afford the $50,000 needed to hire a Bylaw Enforcement Officer? There have been increasing complaints from residents about bylaw infractions, but this is quite a big ticket item for the budget, and the pot of money is small”.

The bylaw officer is a current potential expense not an expense based on the future potential of a need yet realized such as the middle school. With or without the new school, the village may deem the position necessary…We will have to wait and see. Also, I imagine that based on student population, Port Moody may be willing to subsidize the bylaw enforcement of the school or at the very least reduce our fees to use their services which is a burning issue for our communities.
