NO POLICING plan for Heritage Woods Middle School in Anmore
public safety: NOT an important factor to consider when choosing a site location to build a new Middle School to send our children.
To date, NO response has been received from the Village of Anmore regarding ANY Policing plan for the proposed Heritage Woods Middle School in Anmore.
If you read the Tri-City News, you may have seen the article in January of this year two (2) Anmore Councilors have complained about slow 911 response time to Anmore.
Further you will find an article speaking directly to the Coquitlam RCMP report (worth the read).
Lastly, you will find my letter to both RCMP and Port Moody Police asking about Police coverage for the School. You will also see what the Police Chief of Port Moody said to me in response to my letter … “you have a right to be concerned… the points you brought up are valid concerns”
Just to be CRYSTAL CLEAR…. This post is not about the RCMP or the Port Moody Police. It’s about the Village of Anmore exploring the requirements for Policing if the proposed Heritage Woods Middle School is built within the Village. I support and respect the men and women who serve the public in law enforcement and have friends on the force.
* Will “we” Anmore require an additional officer for coverage? Or a ½ time officer?
* Will Port Moody Police or RCMP provide better protection for our kids?
* How much will this cost? Who pays? Do we have a budget for this?
* Many unanswered questions for me to a topic that seems so critical.
* Am I way off with my concern for safety? Are you confident and satisfied?
Maybe for many who have commented so far, public safety isn’t an important factor to consider when choosing a School site location to build a new Middle School to send our children?
Why hasn’t Anmore answered this question yet?
Everyone has come to the table except the two key stakeholders.
