Anmore to hook up to Port Moody Sewer - tbd.

The NOT so Secret, Secret Agenda.
Most of you were not invited by the Village of Anmore to attend the “first meeting January 6th, 2009” with neighbors and SD43. Almost half the meeting was spent with Robert Lille of Anmore Greens presenting the reasons why Anmore Greens should have sewer hook up. Mayor Hal Weinberg going as far to say that he would like the School Board to bring this item up with Port Moody and Mr. Weinberg said “the School District should take the lead on the sewer hook up” echoed this.
To be CRYSTAL clear, I’m not opposed to Anmore Greens or any group that wants to hook up to the Port Moody Sewer.
I think it’s a great idea for all to join.
But as a meeting organized by Anmore Mayor and Council, it was quite interesting that we spent so much talking about sewer hook up when the notice of meeting was regarding the proposed bylaw change to fast track the approval to Build Heritage Woods Middle School.
At one point the School Board said that they don’t feel comfortable playing that role. (sorry I can’t tell you the gentleman’s name from the School Board because Anmore took no minutes for this meeting).
When I couldn’t take it any longer I finally stood up at the meeting to explain to the School District 43 representative including Mr. Dan Derpak that what they didn’t know was Anmore has not been successful to date to come to an agreement with the City of Port Moody and they want SD43 to do the work that they have been unable to do. At this point Robert Lille said in agreement “exactly”.
Do any other Anmore Residents located close to the proposed Heritage Woods Middle School support the sewer hook up for their homes? What about the builders on Dogwood that still have homes not yet built?
I have spoken to Port Moody Mayor Joe Trasolini and Gaetan Royer, Port Moody City Manager within the last week on other issues.
I will follow up with an email to inquire how we (home owners in addition to Anmore Greens) may also take advantage of the new Port Moody Sewer hook up if the School is built.
Please let me know if you wish me to add your address to the list to be considered for Port Moody Sewer hook up ASAP so I can include this in my correspondence.
It only seems fair that all homeowners in the immediate area should be offered the same opportunity.
I may comment further on the new Anmore hook up to Port Moody sewer in later posts.
flush away!

I find it hard to believe that no one else has come forward to express interest in this proposition. Or, is it that you’re afraid to say anything ? Sad, really.

Well I’m part of the strata as easement so if they are successful in hooking up, which I doubt they will be, I’m along for the ride.
Really I rather have an outhouse on the side of my property than 350 and more cars coming around for a school. But thinking back at our last camping trip… maybe not. lol

I don’t think people are afraid… I think people are finding out that the site owner lives close to the proposed School location and this whole issue is about his own personal “Property Value” and has nothing to do with any of the issues posted. If he lived 2 blocks farther down the site would have never been created.

Thanks again for your comment.
Re: Property Values. Not True, Nice Try …
While I am aware of the impact, I’m not sure if you have noticed that while I have raised many concerns, this has NOT been one of them.
Although, I could say the same for you.
If you do some research regarding infrastructure in residential areas, you will find two things.
1.) those affected by (traffic, noise, crime etc.) the infrastructure see a decrease in property values.
2.) Those close to but not affected by the infrastructure see a increase in property values.
So, enjoy your new found $$$ profits $$$.
However, in the big picture many other issues need to be addressed.
*Police – Fire – by-law, traffic, taxes, infrastructure to name a few.
Tracy, you seem to be engaged in this dialogue and would like to ask you a question.
Are you completely satisfied with the Safety and Police coverage issues raised regarding building the proposed School?
