Is Anmore Rural or Urban?

Is Anmore Rural or Urban?
This appears to be a question that has been answered but not to the liking of the Village of Anmore.
Much discussion has been initiated by Anmore Mayor Hal Weinberg and his desire to have Anmore designated Semi-Rural.
The problem seems to be that the GVRD only has two categories,
1.) Urban
2.) Rural
What does this have to do with Anmore Homes, Anmore Property, Anmore Real Estate, and the proposed Anmore Middle School?
If I heard and interpreted Michael Rosen’s (Anmore’s planning consultant) comments at the council meeting (March 24th, 2009 at the Village Hall) correctly, I believe he said if Anmore’s designation is Rural “the land use for the proposed Anmore Middle School would not be considered”.
Sounds like a few phone calls and or meetings to dig a little deeper into this issue.
I’ll report back if I can substantiate this information.
